Plan Toy Doll House Asian Family

3 years & up. Encourage cooperative and imaginative play with these beautifully detailed dolls. A mother, father, son, and daughter, all dressed in colorful clothes, are sure to delight and excite your child. Made from recycled rubber wood and coated with a non-toxic finish. All colors are made from vegetable dye.
Customer Review: Doll house dolls for every family
These Plan Toys Asian Family dollhouse dolls are very cute and well made. They are reasonably flexible so that you can make them sit or stand or appear to do things reasonably well. However, it would be very very useful if the dolls could be sold separately with custom ordered skin color, eye color, hair color, and hair length. We were trying to create a family of dolls to go with a Navajo hogan. The only Indian dolls you have do not look Navajo at all. The Asian dolls came the closest and we will need to adjust the clothing and will be unable to give the men long hair which would be more appropriate. Mixed race families will have an even harder time creating a family to emulate their own. Most folks can't afford to purchase three sets of dolls in order to get for instance a black father, a caucasian mother, and a mixed race child. I believe you would gain a lot of new customers if you could sell the dolls individually and even more if they could be customized.

Teaching autistic children reading skills can be a daunting task. Some children will never read, but many higher functioning children can learn to some extent and can end up being excellent readers.

Teaching autistic children to read has a very unique set of challenges that requires a parent or teacher to have a lot of patience. It can be like teaching children without autism but with the problems magnified.

Sometimes they can be very cooperative, but for the most part, autistic children have huge problems with attention span, lack any type of motivations to learn to read, and they have problems with figuring out the rules of reading and grammar when compared to children who do not have autism.

Learning to read should be fun for any child, but when it comes to autistic children, you have to reach them on their level, so make sure you chose a method that meets their needs.

For some children sounds are important and using music as a tool to teach musically inclined autistic children to read is a very good move. There are some programs out there on the market that will use music and singing to help a child with autism learn many things. Some also employ the use of games. These interactive methods usually help with attention span and interest, two of the biggest obstacles in this endeavor.

One important thing to remember when teaching an autistic child to read is that most reading requires creative thinking and this is something that many children with autism struggle with. This means that when learning, it is best to focus on materials that are based in reality. Stories about children like them going through their day might be a good place to start. Steer clear of stories that are full of fantasy people like princesses and talking animals.

Anyone teaching an autistic child to read should remember that many think visually. This means they are more likely to learn about words and letters through visual stimulation. Almost every child has a special interest, and autistic children are no exception. If they like trains, you may want to use them as a visual guide to learning how to read. If they are interested in the subject matter they are more likely to pay attention for longer periods of time, and are more willing to learn because they will find it interesting.

Each child is different and will learn at a different pace and in a different manner. Dont be afraid to make use of the reading programs on the market designed with autistic children in mind. These have generally developed either through experience or with strong science behind them. They may be the best way to go about teaching autistic children reading when it seems they have no interest in doing so.

Plan Toys Wooden Animal Memory Game

Memo consist of 24 wooden pictures tiles with 12 different kinds of animals. Test children's memory and find the most animal pair to successfully win the game. Great for 2-4 players. Size: cm 30 x 20 x 1 / inch 11.9x 7.9x 0.4
Customer Review: Love it
My 4 and a half year old daughter instantly got the game and it really makes her think. She makes up her own games besides memory and loves the graphic pictures. My 18 month old likes the pictures too, and the durability of the wood makes these a long term toy. only downside, being wood, you can memorize the grain when the animals are hidden, but she hasn't figured that out yet!

When I choose a toy to give to my godchildren or niece or nephews, the first thing I look into is the age recommendation. I actually only consider two factors when buying toys for kids - age appropriateness and my budget.

Reading about baby injuries caused by what I consider to be pretty harmless toys made me rethink my selection criteria. It made me aware about the safety aspect of kids' toys. After a few hours of Internet surfing, I've learned that:

1. Toys must not have sharp surfaces or points.

2. Toys for kids under three years of age must not contain small parts or produce small parts when they break, like rattles with small balls in them.

3. Toys must not have pinching parts or wires that could poke through.

4. Stuffed toys or dolls should have no ribbons, strings, cords, or necklaces that can be wrapped around a child's neck.

5. Any toy that can fit through a toilet paper tube is a choking and ingestion hazard.

6. Projectile toys like darts and slingshots are for older children.

7. I should also consider if there are younger siblings that can be interested to the toy because that toy can be a potential hazard for the younger ones.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission bans toys for sale in the U.S. that do not pass federal safety standards on small parts, low levels of lead in paint, flammability limits, and hazardous chemicals.

In August 2008, new toy safety standards have become a law in the U.S. The law requires, among others, lead levels in painted toys to be reduced to 100 parts per million and phthalate content to be below 0.1 percent. It also requires mandatory testing and safety certifications as well as tracking information for parents to easily find out if the toy they bought has been recalled. For some parents, the new law might not be the solution to some problems on child safety but it is a good start.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has a lot of information for parents like safety tips not only on toys but also on baby cribs and play yards, bicycles, pools, playgrounds and playpens. A visit at their Web site, www.cpsc.gov, is enlightening. There's an updated list of recalled toys and other products in the site that will prove to be helpful for parents.

Parents can even receive direct e-mail notification of product recalls through the agency's Web site. This is one free e-mail subscription parents should have. They can also subscribe to electronically receive new recalls and safety information at www.recalls.gov.

A blog by independent and nonprofit organization, Consumers Union, is another great site for parents to visit. The site is regularly updated with safety news and tips from the Consumer Product Safety Commission as well as news relating to child safety from publishers like The New York Times, The Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, and Time magazine.

There is so much to learn about toys and their safety standards. Hopefully, we all can be made aware of these standards to prevent tragedies.

Plan Toy Tower Pounding

This toy offers a variation on the more traditional pounding toys; children pound the ball with the mallet, then it jumps into the tower and then rolls down the ramp. This is a great toy for developing hand-eye coordination. Young children love the cause-and-effect reactions of this toy! This hardwood toy is beautifully crafted, and will stand up to years and years of play.
Customer Review: A Hit!!
I'm impressed with this toy. It's all-wood construction. Very smooth, well-sanded, no sharp edges. Hit the rubber spot with the mallet, and the ball rises up and out of the tower, rolls around the tower on the colored "walls", and rolls back into the base of the tower, ready to be hit again. The very young will enjoy the repetition (no batteries required!). The slightly older (in our house, at least) enjoy testing various "tricks", such as what happens if I hit it harder? lighter? at the edge of the lever arm instead of on the red dot? etc. We found it to be enjoyable for all ages. I appreciate the solid construction. It's very sturdy, bottom-heavy (nice) and quite lovely wood grains, too.

Can you remember what it was like to play? Play is part of who you are. And you all have special memories of playing with your favorite toys. Back-to-basic toys, also called creative or educational toys, create these moments of good, natural fun that inspire the imagination.

As a parent, you want to impart those good old memories to your children by selecting only creative toys that will give them room to develop learning strategies. See your children reach new heights as they discover, create and build their imaginations all at the same time. Opportunities for physical, emotional and intellectual activities abound around creative toys.

Play environments that encourage interactive, imaginative and exploitative ways to play build a child's confidence in his abilities and surroundings. Aside from developing a child's learning abilities, tinkering with these toys play a tremendous part in fostering a child's well-being, as well as strengthening the parent-child relationship. These toys are often used in an aspect of closeness. They can be part of other kinds of relationships.

It is important for parents to understand what the child will take in from that playful experience. This is good for your kids' self-esteem and reassures parents that their children are playing safely. You know that they are also building real-life skills through close encounters with educational toys. Some of these toys definitely bring out your child's creativity. They like to put things together from their own imagination by exploring and using what is around them to build things.

It goes without saying that you cannot possibly watch over your children's shoulders every moment. However, you can take time to consider some things when selecting such toys for your children. Are they age appropriate for you child? Is there a lesson to be learned from them or does it seem like mindless action? Are they socially responsible wherein the child can understand themselves, their community and the world?

Consider also the toy's durability and worthiness as an investment. What is its use if the child will not play with it over and over again? A parent should know that if a toy is not appealing to their child, then it will likely sit on a shelf. Do not be too rigid in looking for toys that will educate your kids, otherwise, they will miss the fun that comes with playing.

Finding unique high quality learning toys that are also fun to play with is essential. These toys will be priceless to the child who receives them. They are sure to become timeless treasures. Educational and developmental toys include puzzles, stuffed animals, musical instruments, building bricks and minifigures.

Developmental toys provide enormous growth in cognitive and linguistic skills as well as physical abilities. While parents may make a conscious effort to instill a love of educational toys, let the child take the lead. There is no harm in letting them choose their playthings. This takes the pressure off the parents, and playing becomes a much more enjoyable experience for everyone.

Plan Toy Cooking Utensils

A combination of metal and wood make the utensils looks outstanding. Great on their own, or in addition to any other kitchen set! Includes: pot with lid, saucepan, frying pan, wooden ladle, and spatula.
Customer Review: Good for a 2 year old
I didn't get to see my nephew play with his pots and pans, but this is what he wanted for his new kitchen that he is getting for Christmas. They aren't very pretty, but they are pretty eco-friendly.
Customer Review: Cute but not that durable...
These pots are a good size for children but the metal is very thin and dents easily. Also the handle for the frying pan is too heavy for the metal of the pan that the pan does stay flat. We found much better, real stainless steal pots and pans at IKEA for much less money. Although my children play with them, I wouldn't make this purchase again because of the quality issue. It's the one PLAN toy that has really disappointed us...

As you probably already know if you're reading this article, this dance mat has been sold out all over the country because of the recent "Hannah Montana fever" currently in full swing. I purchased this for my daughter for Christmas. She also has the older version of the dance mat. Here is my review of both products - both the new version with the wig and dvd and the old version, without the wig. There's also a link for where to get these hard-to-find items at the end of the article.

The New Version Features And Price:

The new version is the one that is flying off of stores right now. It features a blond Hannah wig, a microphone and the mat itself, which lights up. The premise of this toy is that the kids can learn dance moves to three Hannah Montana songs: "Who Said?," "Best Of Both Worlds" and "This Is My Life. " Dancing instructions appear on an included DVD and teach dance moves to the songs.

I want to say right off do not expect the wig to be the quality that you see Hannah wearing on TV. It isn't, but it's good enough to get the effect kids want. Also, your child will probably not be dancing like a professional dancer at the end of a play session, but your child will learn moves to Hannah songs. Kids basically just want to learn how to dance for the new Hannah movie or a Hannah concert and the Hannah Montana Mat accomplishes this while they have fun. The price of the new version mat is about $35 retail.

The Older Version Features And Price:

The older version does not have the wig included, but I would argue that the quality of the actual product is a bit better and the product will last a longer time. It plays the same songs as the newer version, but the lights and music sync better with the numbers on the mat. I honestly find this one more user friendly for younger kids. This one is very hard to find, but I think I like it better than the first.

All in all, my daughter loves both dance mats. She's a 7 year old little girl who just wants to dance and have fun. She doesn't expect she will dance just like Hannah. I love the fact that it gets her off the couch and she gets some exercise. Would I buy them again? Absolutely.
