A popular electronic game in this decade is 'Wall-E,' a robot that was introduced via a movie. The electronic toy robot runs by remote control, and there is also a button that will play 4 or 5 different songs, and a button to play sound effects.

Back in the day, some of the most popular icons of collecting electronic toys were the trains and the race cars. The old train sets are huge in the collectors world today, especially if they're in good condition. Some people travel around the world just to see some of these old trains. There are also trade shows you can visit, where you will see hundreds of trains and villages set up and in motion. This is eye candy at its best. The remote controlled race cars have been big ever since their inception. Only today there are a lot more options on the remote control, and a lot more varieties of race cars to choose from.

There are many websites to purchase these toys at, thanks to the ever growing popularity in collecting electronic toys. Ebay seems to be your best bet for the huge selection available, but there are still stores that you can visit who specialize in collectors toys, especially in the antique store markets. I have not opened the package as I bought this for its historical and sentimental value. So I could not rate it above. I will say that I think the toy should have been listed as a parody type toy since the sayings on the box are not in line with the President-Elect status of Mr. Obama and the caricature of Mr. Obama is more pronounced than I expected it to be.

Toy came in a reasonable amount of time. I was a little disappointed in the "paint" job. On one side of the head the hair that should have been painted black was the same color as the doll. I had to get some black paint and cover the area that was left unpainted. Other than that the doll is rather hilarious looking and different from what I have seen on ebay...by the way I have NOT seen this one on ebay yet.

This is quite an interesting phase in your toddler's life, since he is trying to be independent but at same time quite dependent on you and others to fulfill his needs. As a parent we feel its our duty to put our kid's demands / needs above ourselves and others but practically this is not feasible always. Hence it's required to teach your kid right to others which is tough and on going process but we need to start now.

Also this is one of the most important requirements to live in our society. I found it quite tough doing with my kid and suffered a lot because of this. So here are few techniques that I've used to attain this, making sure without frustrating or annoying your kid at the same time:

Explain rights and duties : Don't just demand rights, explain them. Instead of saying "I Cannot play, I'm working in kitchen or I'm reading book" , explain "Mama has got to work she has to finish cooking for dinner so that we all can have dinner at time" or "Mama is reading an interesting book, she likes reading as you like playing with blocks, so play by yourself for sometime". It may be possible that your demand is still refused but we have started planting in kid's mind that they need to wait till their wishes can be fulfilled.

Introduce feelings: It's unreasonable to expect toddlers not treating their playmates as object so snatching a toy or hitting them is still not acceptable. Instead of saying "Give teddy back, it's not yours", explain "How will you feel if someone takes your toys and push you, you will not like it same way she's also sad when you took her toy". There are quite a good chances for this demand to be refused as well, introduce a concept of thinking chair, make your kid sit on his chair and think if he's doing right or wrong, initially he may not understand, and even say that he's right but it begins to imbibe in his/her mind and provide distraction for a while. In case kid doesn't understand, divert him to some other activity and give time to imbibe this in him.

Respect your toddler's rights and feelings: While introducing this tough concept, don't neglect your toddler's feelings unknowingly, like sharing your kid's favorite toy with a visiting playmate. Always ask your toddler and if he refuses ask him to give some other toy so that both can play and enjoy together at the same time.

Set yourself as an example: Toddlers always look at their parents and that's greatest impact on their minds. So make sure while making them, learn respecting feeling of others, don't embarrass a baby sitter or snap at anyone. This sends wrong message to young minds that such a behavior is acceptable and it won't matter what you say in contrary.

I agree its quite difficult, but one of the most required facets to stay in social environment and setting correct examples will eventually lead to what we want to attain, making our toddlers learn that all humans around him have feelings and have some rights, besides fulfilling their duties. You may feel your toddler does not understand and you may end up taking a harsh way but trust me it won't work, you have to show patience and your toddler will learn it eventually.

I really like this toy, but my son is rarely interested in playing with it. I was hoping he'd teeth on it since it's washable and made of organic cotton. Unfortunately, my kid is more interested on chewing on my phone and whatever else he's not supposed to be teething on!

These Plan Toys Asian Family dollhouse dolls are very cute and well made. They are reasonably flexible so that you can make them sit or stand or appear to do things reasonably well. However, it would be very very useful if the dolls could be sold separately with custom ordered skin color, eye color, hair color, and hair length. We were trying to create a family of dolls to go with a Navajo hogan. The only Indian dolls you have do not look Navajo at all. The Asian dolls came the closest and we will need to adjust the clothing and will be unable to give the men long hair which would be more appropriate. Mixed race families will have an even harder time creating a family to emulate their own. Most folks can't afford to purchase three sets of dolls in order to get for instance a black father, a caucasian mother, and a mixed race child. I believe you would gain a lot of new customers if you could sell the dolls individually and even more if they could be customized.

Buying toys for disabled children shouldnt be any different than buying toys for healthy children, but for some reason, the thought of a disabled child sometimes brings a mental block. You might feel like you dont know what toy to get a blind child or one who is deaf.

Selecting a toy for disabled children is really not that difficult. All you have to do is try to look at the toy from a different perspective. The National Lekotek Center, a non-profit organization, devotes its research to making toys for children with disabilities. Here are a few tips the center has for those looking for toys for disabled children:

1. Consider how the toy would appeal to a child on more than one level of sensory perception. A toy that has a unique texture might appeal to a blind child, while one with lights or movement would be wonderful for a deaf child.

2. How user-friendly is the toy? Make sure that the toy is not so complicated that a child with a disability will be frustrated. Think about how many steps the child will have to go through to activate the toy. Will it work with a simple push of a button, or are there several things the child must first do before the toy works?

3. Can the toy be used anywhere? Will a bedridden child be able to use it while lying down? Will a child in a wheel chair be able to play with the toy in his or her lap or on a tray?

4. Does the child like toys that can be used however he or she likes? Is it a game with a specific goal, or can the child make up his or her own games as he goes along?

5. Disabled kids want toys that everyone else is playing with. Is the toy based on a current popular movie or book? Is the toy something that everyone else has that the disabled child can have too?

6. Does the toy allow for self-expression and creativity?

7. How adjustable is the toy? Try to account for height, volume, speed and difficulty. Will the toy grow with the child or is the toy for a very narrow age range? Does it have the potential as a collectible? Is it something that the child will come back to repeatedly or will the child outgrow it quickly?

8. Safety is always a consideration whether the child is disabled or not. Take into consideration the childs size and strength, as well as the durability of the toy. Does the child have the dexterity to handle small moving parts, or do bigger pieces become necessary for the child to manipulate the toy? Can the toy get wet without being ruined? Is the toy easily cleaned?

9. Is the toy appropriate for the childs developmental and chronological age?

10. What is the level of interaction between the child and toy? Is it an active toy, or is it a toy that requires very little effort on the part of the child? Does the toy have the potential to encourage social interaction with other children?

Disabled children are no different from other children. These children still like to play, and they still need toys. With these tips in mind, you should have no problem finding that special toy for that special child.

My 5 month old loves this toy. The mirror and the softness of the fabric. I say this is her second favorite because her first favorite is Sassy Earth Brights Wooden Dove. If the Dove isn't around, this one keeps her happy. The rattle inside also keeps her attention when she shakes it around.

The Melissa and Doug Princess Castle is one of my favorite toys I bought for my family. I'm sure you've all heard of toxic toys from overseas, junky toys made in sweatshops, and terrible things like that. I even found out this year that 85% or more of all toys in the USA are made overseas!

Melissa and Doug is a national company, and is based in the United States (so far as my research tells me). From owning various toys they've put out, I can tell you that everything they make is top quality.

Let's take, for instance, the Melissa and Doug Folding Princess Castle. Is it made of cardboard? No. It's actually made from real wood. Who would've thunk in this day and age that there are companies that care about making quality toys, not just imported junk. We have various wooden puzzles and other toys from this company, and we have no complaints on any of them.

If you look at the details and care that went into the making of the princess castle, you'll see that it will make a fun toy for any little girl. I think the combination of wanting to be a princess and pretend play, imagining yourself as a princess, plus the fascination girls have with their dolls and their dollhouses, makes this toy appealing to kids on many levels.

We bought ours about 4 months ago, and our kids haven't lost interest in it yet. I think that says a lot about this toy, don't you? Since we bought it, the price has come down substantially, but I'm not upset and I still consider it money well spent.

I'm impressed with this toy. It's all-wood construction. Very smooth, well-sanded, no sharp edges. Hit the rubber spot with the mallet, and the ball rises up and out of the tower, rolls around the tower on the colored "walls", and rolls back into the base of the tower, ready to be hit again. The very young will enjoy the repetition (no batteries required!). The slightly older (in our house, at least) enjoy testing various "tricks", such as what happens if I hit it harder? lighter? at the edge of the lever arm instead of on the red dot? etc. We found it to be enjoyable for all ages. I appreciate the solid construction. It's very sturdy, bottom-heavy (nice) and quite lovely wood grains, too.

I agree with the previous reviewer. This toy is *not* durable at all. I bought it for my son's 4th birthday and he was *so* excited. He loves "helping" his dad in the yard and loves pretend power tools. It was the perfect gift. But literally in only 1 day it stopped working. My son is not super aggressive with his toys and he did not bang it on things. We joked at first that he was just able to run the battery down that fast, but new batteries did not fix it. I only paid $20 at ToysRUs and I still feel robbed. It's really a shame since it's a great idea. Just plain doesn't work.

We bought this for my son for his 3rd birthday. It was broken within 2 days. First the plastic part that holds the "blade" broke, but at least it still spun and made noise. My daughter wanted the "mom" for her baby Bunglie Mutt. The toy is very soft and cuddly for kids of any ages.

Some years back, the principal walked into my room while my student teacher was delivering a lesson. After a few minutes, the principal signaled me to step outside.
"I would never hire Johnny to work at my school," he said.
Shocked, I asked him why.
"On the board, he has a misplaced comma, and he ended a sentence with a preposition."

Sounds quite harsh, doesn't it? That principal certainly had high expectations of his
teachers. Not every educated adult places the same level of importance regarding the proper use of grammar and mechanics as does that principal. However, many do.

Proper grammar is a critically important tool for success in school, work, and life. We are judged, sometimes quite severely, by the words we use and the way we use them in both our speaking and writing. Misused grammar betrays us. The way we talk and write reflects our background, education, and ability to communicate.

The Five Myths of Grammar Instruction

1. Grammar is acquired naturally; it does not need to be taught. Oral language is not always an efficient teacher. In fact, it can be quite a mixed bag. For every proper modeling of the pronoun in the sentence: It is I, students hear at least five models of the incorrect: It is me. Grammar as it is caught must be complemented by a grammar that is taught.

2. Grammar is a meaningless collection of rules-most of which don't work half the time. This myth may have developed from mindless "drill and kill" grammatical exercises with no application to real writing. Actually, our English grammar is remarkably flexible and consistent.

3. Grammar cannot be learned by students with some learning styles or disabilities.
While it may be true that students learn language differently, at different rates, and vary in proficiency, there has been no research to show that some students cannot learn grammar.

4. English grammar cannot be learned by second language learners. Some teachers think that students who speak other languages get confused between the primary language and English grammars. The research proves otherwise. Intuitively, many of us have significantly increased our own knowledge of English grammar by taking a foreign language.

5. Reading and writing a lot will improve grammar. Reading grammatically rich literature is wonderful, but learning is not passive and does not come by osmosis. Writing poorly may, indeed, reinforce poor grammatical usage.

How we should teach grammar to Johnny...

Don't waste time teaching Johnny what he already knows. Find out what he does not know and target these areas of grammatical deficits. Use a good diagnostic assessment found on the web or at your local bookstore. Have Johnny practice those weaknesses with specific skill worksheets.

Teach the language of grammar and recognition of the common grammatical structures. Johnny has to know what a prepositional phrase is and how to know one when he sees one. In fact, over 30% of academic writing is composed of this grammatical form. Maybe learning "Conjunction Junction, What's Your Function" on Sesame Street was not such a bad idea after all.

Teach grammar in the context of writing. Using the common grammatical structures, have Johnny begin half of his written sentences with different sentence openers. This practice serves two purposes: It teaches recognition and manipulation of grammatical structures and it improves sentence variety.

It's certainly the case that for some dogs and particular breeds learn to fetch allot faster than other breeds. If you wan to teach any dog to fetch then follow these steps and it shouldn't be a problem.

Tip 1 - Stage 1

Make sure you use something that your dog has familiarity with and enjoys. I taught my first dog to fetch by using his favorite furry teddy (with a squeak). I used this because my dog already enjoyed playing with this toy so it made the training process easier right from the start.
The reason that I used a squeaky toy was it instantly focused his attention when I threw it.
Although ropes and tug toys maybe one of your dog's favorite toys -don't use it when training to fetch as your dog is more accustomed to tug-of-war, and will want to play this with you instead of learning to fetch.

Tip 2 - Stage 2

In this stage you need to place your dog on a leash.
You need to use a relatively long leash, something about 10 foot or slightly longer is perfect. The reason behind using a leash is that you don't want to be chasing after your dog and trying to retrieve him.
The longer the leash the better as it will enable your dog to run to fetch his toy but with you still having an element of control.

Tip 3 - Stage 3

I always use treats when I am training any dog to fetch - this keep and holds their attention.
This stage is possibly the most difficult as you want to keep your dog your dog's attention on the toy, the treats and on you.
If you are starting the fetch training with a puppy - do the fetch training over a period of about a week - keep practicing this stage by trying to hold your puppies attention.
When fetch training a puppy - make sure you end the training before he loses his attention - this will keep your puppy interested every time you restart the fetch training process.

Tip 4 - Stage 4 - Fetch

Right here we go...

Now you have your dog on a leash, a toy, your dog's undivided attention, and a treat - You are now ready to to start the fetch training process.
Hold your dog/puppy quite tightly on the leash and keeping his attention - wave the toy in front of him and the throw it away - only a few feet - you want it to be in your dog's eye line.
As you throw it say in a firm voice 'fetch' and let your dog run after the toy.
When your dog has got the toy in his mouth gently draw the dog back in with your leash.
When he is within reach, offer the treat and say 'give' and take the toy from your dog's mouth.
Make sure you aren't pulling and tugging for the toy-this isn't a game and your dog needs to understand that.
Now it's time to praise your dog - make a really big deal of it make your dog realize that you are thrilled. Repeat 'good dog' and pat and pet him.
Continue to repeat stages 4 and 5 until you feel he is getting bored or losing his attention

If you repeat this over the course of a week - any dog even the most stubborn breed will learn to fetch.

I think Amazon said this was for 3 and up, but after seeing a toddler wearing this set one of the pictures and figuring my 2-year-old nieces could grow into them, I purchased this. I was a little dismayed when the box arrived and it said "Five and up" and the aprons looked enormous. Nonetheless I was too excited about seeing the little chefs next to the pink kitchen set I knew they were getting for Christmas, so I embroidered their names on the aprons and handed them over. Of course the aprons were way too big, but you can fold them up and tie them on about any kid. The neck and waist closures allow for a lot of sizing flexibility and the hat fits a smaller child--they all have big noggins. While it claims there are small parts not appropriate for kids under 3, I certainly couldn't identify anything that might be harmful; it's all fabric and 2 wooden utensils. The girls looked SO cute running around the house with their names on their aprons and their floppy hats. I couldn't be happier that I stuck with the gift. The products look quality, same as an adult's kitchen stuff might, so hopefully they'll dress up as chefs and use the accessories for years to come, both when they play and when they start helping mom and dad with dinner.

1- Ebay: From games, clothes, and anything you don't want, sell it on Ebay. You are going to make profits because you're parents bought it and now you want to sell it. Find anything to sell and I'm sure you'll sell it within 2-3 days.

2- Work: Not just any kind of work. I want you to work at a restaurant. Restaurants give out amazing tip depending how good you are. On average I made tip a day of $10-30 dollars a day. In addition, you also make your minimum wage which is now i think $7.75 cents here in Southern California. If you work at a more prestigious restaurant usually you'll pick up more tip.

3-Internet Marketing: Now this is for teenagers who can make loads of money if they are patient. Internet marketing is not for people who rush into it and see results. This takes time, but it will definitely be worth it. I'm currently an internet marketer and trust me I was foolish when I first started. I rushed things to quick and made no sales. So like i said, this marketing business is not for people who want to quickly earn money. It is not that easy. Conversely, the reward in the ending will be well worth your patience.

4- Save money: This might sound easy too, but try to save your money as much as you can. Set up your dates ahead so that you have a money to use on that day. If you have a date with a girl/boy then I suggest you save as much money and use it sparingly.

5- Parents: Just ask your parents for money. I wish I was a teenager, it was nice having allowances and more when you play with your friends. Parents will always give you money when it comes to going somewhere.

The minute my son got this, he wanted me to put it together. Very easy to assemble and disassemble. Less than 10 minutes. Track is durable and flexable. My son has almost every car and just about all of them work on this. That's the best part. He would get bored if he had to use the same few cars every time. The boost works great, I couldn't believe how fast it whips the cars around the track. Hint - use the risers it comes with on the first curve. They really do help. So far we have found Leakless to be the best. He will go around 50 times without wrecking. We have used this for at least 3 hours nonstop, so far, and the 4 D cell batteries are still good.
